PokerShare.com - Poker Share Review

Pokershare.com is a new poker room using Excapsa software, the same software that powers Ultimate Bet, Ultimate Poker, and Greentie Poker. Poker Share is licensed and regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission in Canada. We're very excited here to welcome Pokershare as our new sponsor site for this poker blog, and we encourage everyone who reads this blog and players poker online to take a look at the innovative and exciting player rewards system that they've launched.

Poker Share's model for rewarding players is their unique selling proposition, which is a necessary thing in the crowded and growing online poker market. This player reward model is based on a player-ownership or player-equity model, where every quarter, the players from PokerShare.com receive a payout of 40% of the company's profits. The amount of equity each player receives is based on how many player points he's earned. The more you play, the bigger a percentage of the profits you receive each quarter.

We think this is a brilliant rewards model and can't wait to get our first share of the profits from the new site.

But we think too that there are other reasons to play at PokerShare, not the least of which is the fantastic Excapsa software product. If you play a lot of online poker, then you're probably familiar with the concept of multi-tabling. (Especially if you have the same kind of attention deficit issues we have.) Multi-tabling at an Excapsa-powered poker room is a dream because of their unique min-view feature, which reduces the screen size to an amazingly small but still user-friendly size.

At the lower levels, the competition on the Excapsa network is remarkably soft as well, especially in the single table tournaments. One feature that we enjoy about playing at Poker Share is that we get 1500 chips to start a SnG tournament with here instead of the paltry 800 chips that Party Poker gives at the lower levels. This improves a good player's chances of winning the tournament, which, since we're good players, is a big selling point.

Poker Share's first deposit bonus is one of the best in the industry too. Deposit $250 and get a 100% matching bonus. Too bad you can't buy $500 worth of chips at your local home poker game with just $250, huh?

But seriously...do yourself a favor and give Pokersahre a try. You'll be glad you did.

Online Cardroom Guides - Poker Room Review Sites

If you're thinking about playing poker online for the first time, you might be well-served by taking a look at an online cardroom guide or two before deciding where to play. I know that some folks just do the knee-jerk thing and choose whatever poker site just ran their most recent advertisement on ESPN, but there are actually a lot of sites which review internet poker rooms, and some of the information that they provide can help you avoid being frustrated with a site that doesn't meet your needs as a player.

For example, you might be a low-roller. If that's the case, then you probably want to play at a cardroom which offers $0.01/$0.02, and not all poker sites have stakes that low. Or maybe you like watching texas holdem on tv, but you'd prefer to play five card draw online. You'd probably be pretty frustrated if you downloaded Party Poker only to discover that they don't have the games or the limits that you want.

We're particularly fond of this site about online poker rules, because not only can you find out the details of some of the cardrooms they review there, you can also learn to play some new games. Their online poker room reviews include details about player traffic, tournaments, game variety, and bonuses. They've also got a great article about online prop play too.

Another site we like consists of nothing but online poker reviews. But unlike many poker review sites, Turning Trips features real reviews that actually show some knowledge of the poker sites under discussion. (Many poker review sites online are thinly disguised collections of sales letters for poker sites.) Read their review of True Poker to see how objective they truly are at this site.

A newer cardroom guide that caught our eye is this guide to online poker rooms which reviews a lot of poker sites that aren't usually featured on most poker review sites. We enjoyed the concise and sincere perspective these reviews exhibited.

And of course, one of the best places to find honest reviews is through a human edited directory, like the DMOZ online cardroom guides. At the time of this writing, they're featuring 27 different sites reviewing online cardrooms. Some of these sites are more than just review sites too; they're actual guides to playing in online card rooms. Definitely worth taking a look at these.

Beware of Casino Affiliate Programs - Masive Frauds and Cheating Reported!

A special report has been released on the large extent of frauds taking place with casino affiliate programs. These are controlled by organized crime operators. Extensive research, real tests, investigations and several complaints have been compiled over the last 8 years. This information has been released by game developers, directors, officers, accountants and programmers. Technical support, sales teams, marketing companies and their licensees are other sources from whom valuable information has been received and compiled. This report confirms that casino affiliate programs do not track real sales properly. 99% to 100% of the sales were not tracked at all leaving the innocent affiliates cheated and robbed. As per figures on the online gambling industry, affiliates get cheated by over a billion dollar each year. Apart from casino licensees, several marketing companies also run dishonest casino affiliate programs which are again based on fraud and cheating. Gamblingmagazine.com reports:

Their entire business models are based on frauds, and nothing else than frauds, and we are certain about this becuase there is no possible doubt about it. Very naive affiliates wrongly think that bigger is bigger, so they signed up with the bigger companies, including many publinc companies.

"WPT: Making The Final Table" - Second part of the WPT Champions of Poker Book Series

Its a foregone conclusion in Hollywood that if a sequel is made of a successful film, it will never be able to rise up to the standards set by the first one. But exceptions always prove the rule. The same has been the case with Erick Lindgren's new book on the second part of the WPT Champions of Poker book series. It is called "WPT: Making The Final Table". This book will be out in the market by November 2nd. It will be priced at $15.95 US and $21.50 Canadian. The first book in the series was called "WPT: Shuffle Up And Deal". This book was by World Poker Tour Announcer and champion player Mike Sexton. Pokernews.com reports:

The book, however, was more useful in the limit world than that of tournament poker, especially No-Limit. They have addressed that problem through the efforts of Erick Lindgren and his co-writer and friend, Matt Matros.
